The puffins class had an amazing chance to go and experience a mythical wonder on a tour at Scolton Manor on the 16th of February 2017.
The tour was to explore the grounds of the manor and to learn about Welsh history through stories and sculptures.
There were dragons, wolves, goblets and kings. Each with their own story.
There was creative artwork created through using all natural materials. They created mythical creatures from the deep. There was fantastical dragons and swamps galore.
The children had a tremendous day, they all survived the swamps…… ( very muddy paths) which all added to the wonder of the day.
We have been lucky enough this week to have had a wonderful visit from The Chinese Confucius Institute.
There were lots of activities across the school from Foundation Phase all the way through to KS2. Helping us learn about their culture and celebrate and understand elements of Chinese New year.
It was an action packed couple of days! There was Mandarin language practice, learning numbers. Happy New Year songs just to name a few. We learnt all about our animal birth years and when we were born. There were Monkeys, Tigers and lots of Rats!
There was Panda painting and Calligraphy which was a firm favourite with the children and staff!
It was an extremely informative treat for us all here at school and we certainly enjoyed it! We certainly hope that they come back again!
